Internal Affairs
Division VP-Chairman Elect - April Thornton, Randolph Hospital
Membership - Kim Markham, Asheboro Recycling & Art Martinez, Nationwide Insurance
Objective: To increase the overall general membership in the chamber.
Recruitment: Recommend to the Executive Board a plan to recruit new members, looking at internal campaigns, external campaigns, and any other variation deserving consideration.
Retention: Continue the Chamber's history of high retention by working with the Ambassadors to target at risk members and make sure the Chamber is meeting the needs of its members.
Ambassadors Club - Matthew Smith, Insurance Associates of the Triad
Objective: To promote and represent the Chamber throughout the community, educate Chamber
members regarding the programs and benefits associated with membership and assist in increasing general membership.
Christmas Parade - Steve Cofer, Architect
Objective: To coordinate an entertaining and professional Christmas Parade.
Black Tie Affair - Duffy Johnson, Carolina Bank
Objective: To plan and conduct the Chamber's Annual Black Tie Affair Formal Dinner & Dance scheduled for February 16, 2008 to raise money for the Chamber's Educational Programs including the Student Leadership Information For Tomorrow program.
Community Development
Division VP - Carla Freemyer, Asheboro City Schools
Business & Education - James Gouty, BB&T
Objective: To work with both the business and educational community to establish common goals and objectives that will strengthen the relationship, improve the student and enhance the overall quality of life for all Randolph County citizens. Current programs include Teacher Recruitment, Teacher Internships and the Get A LIFE - Learning Is For Earning program.
Leadership Randolph - Kurt Sullivan, The Timken Company
Objective: To develop, plan, coordinate and produce a quality leadership development program that will assist individuals in their ongoing development and produce the future leaders of our community. An Alumni group has also been formed that works with the LR committee to keep past grads informed and involved.
Student L.I.F.T. - Fred Cole, Randolph Electric Membership Corporation
Objective: To conduct a quality youth oriented leadership program that will assist sophomore and junior high school students expand their knowledge of their community and county, as well as develop their leadership skills.
Downtown Development - Kathy Homiller, CPA & Reynolds Lisk, Insurance Associates of the Triad
Objective: To plan and coordinate an ongoing program promoting the continued development of the downtown Asheboro business community.
Special Events - Robert Lewis, Asheboro Copperheads
Objective: To coordinate and promote the educational fundraising events which raise money for our local school systems. The events include an Annual Golf Tournament (June 23, 2008) and an Annual Bowl-A-Thon (February 23, 2008). These events raise money for the Student LIFT, Get A LIFE-Learning Is For Earning, Teacher Internships and New Teacher Recruitment efforts of the Chamber.

Technology - Shannon Foster, Randolph County
Objective: To continually improve the Chamber's website and educate members about new technology.
Business Showcase - Dee Pennell, Piedmont Digital Solutions
Objective: Plan, Organize and Produce the Chamber's Annual Business Showcase set for October 9, 2008.
Seminars & Workshops - Dawn Morton, Randolph Bank
Objective: To coordinate a current year calendar of seminars and workshops, which responds to the needs of the chamber membership.
Retail - Mike Concannon, Ink Solution of NC
Objective: To develop a program designed to promote local retail business growth and encourage shopping in Randolph County.
Governmental Affairs
Division VP - Gary Mason, Asheboro City Police
Government - Robert Graves, North Carolina Highway Patrol
Objective: Provide representation for business at the local, state and federal level of government. Provide a liaison between local businesses and local, state and federal government.
Luncheon Lecture Series - Tina Crutchfield, RBC Centura
Objective: To coordinate quarterly seminars, which informs members and citizens on timely topics and/or issues.
Bikeways & Trails - Dave Fowler, CommunityOne Bank
Objective: To identify and develop bikeways, trails and scenic routes suitable for citizens and visitors to tour and appreciate the scenic beauty and heritage sites of Randolph County.
