
Randolph County is home to the North Carolina State Zoological Park, the nation's largest natural-habitat zoo with 500 acres of exhibits and over 1,000 animals. Also located in Randolph County are the Richard Petty Museum (celebrating NASCAR's all-time career victory leader), the Uwharrie National Forest (a 5,160 acres at the northern end of the ancient Uwharrie Mountains in Randolph County), American Classic Motorcycle Museum with an extensive private collection of classic Harley-Davidsons, North Carolina Aviation Museum with military air crafts and memorabilia from WWII to Vietnam and the Seagrove area potteries with over 80 potteries and view the 200+ year heritage and craft of pottery making.
One of the pictures above is the Pisgah Covered Bridge which is one of the two remaining covered bridges in North Carolina is located just south of Asheboro.
The Victory Junction Gang Camp, founded by NASCAR's famed Petty family is a facility that provides camping experiences for chronically ill children on a 65-acre site near Randleman.
For the sports fans, Randolph County is home to Caraway Speedway which is a NASCAR track with late model stock cars and trucks and the Asheboro Copperheads showcasing collegiate stars from across the country at McCrary Ballpark.
For local entertainment, check out the Fiddler's Cove, Liberty Showcase or Rand Ol' Opry for shows on Saturday evenings.
